Overview
A military craft/gunboat belongs to the Sri Lanka Navy. The craft was known as the 'Jagatha" or P315 was in service from 1980 to2020.
After decommissioning, it was purposely sunken very next to the underwater museum built by Sri Lanka Navy to be an artificial reef. Military craft 'Weeraya - P311' was also sunk here at the same place. Both were adding value to the museum (Sculptures and pillars made of cement) attracting more divers. The location is known as Sandy Bay, Trincomalee. The gunboat was in service for more than 40 years.
